A good sound system with tape and CD player is provided as well as a good piano. We need to use (check one):

The top act in each division each night, plus the highest second from all nights will compete in the finals on Saturday, August 4 at 7:00 PM.

Cash prizes will be awarded on Saturday evening to all contestants participating in Saturday's show. Prizes are as follows:

Benton County may send the winner in each division to the State Fair Amateur Talent Contest. Judges' decision will be final regarding act sent to the State Contest. I acknowledge that I have read entry rules and agree to abide by them.

Entry rules...

  1. The contest is open to all amateur entertainers from Benton, Sherburne, or Stearns counties only (this is a rule change). Professionals (union musicians or those whose talent is a principal source of income) are not permitted to enter.
  2. Acts that have participated in the past may compete again, with the exception of winners who went on to participate in the State Fair contest.
  3. Time limit is four minutes. A medley of tunes is allowed with the 4 minutes.
  4. A piano will be furnished at the Cottonwood Theatre's outdoor stage.
  5. Vocalists may use taped accompaniment provided tape contains musical accompaniment only. Absolutely no back up vocals are allowed on tape.
  6. The program each evening will be limited to twelve acts. All members of a gorup must be of correct age/county.
  7. Judges will assess talent, stage presence, quality of performance, choice of selection, entertainment value and time limit. Judges' decisions are final.
