July 31 - August 5, 2007: Benton County Poultry Association Show held in connection with the Benton County Fair.

Rules and Regulations

Read these rules carefully before making entries.

  1. Entry blanks may be obtained from the Secretary, in the printed Premium Book, or use online Open Class entry form.
  2. Entries must be in the hands of the Secretary seven days before opening of show. This gives the management time to get the coops in place and make room for the comfort of each exhibit. Your entries will receive the best of care and attention whether attended by the owner or not.
  3. The association cannot be responsible for any loss or accident, but every precaution will be taken to prevent loss or damage.
  4. All birds shall be free from any infectious communicable diseases. If any disease shows up during the show, the birds must be taken out.
  5. Entry fees: single entries - 50 cents per bird, Trio - $1.00. The management may accept a limited number of entries after the date specified above if there is available space in the showroom, but late entries will be charged the following fees: single entry - $1.00, Trio - $2.00.
  6. Exhibitors must be bona fide owners the birds.
  7. Bantam premiums same as large fowl.
  8. All birds must qualify according to American standard of perfection. Birds will be judged by comparison and entrants should take note that the judge is authorized to disqualify birds not meeting the standard of perfection.
  9. Birds may be entered after 12 noon on August 1, but not later than 6:00 p.m. on August 2. Birds may be removed at 5:00 p.m. on August 5. Not responsible for birds left after 6:00 p.m. on August 5.
  10. All entry fees must be paid before the birds are allowed to compete. No prizes will be paid on entries, the fees of which have not been paid in advance of judging. Prizes will be awarded and premiums paid only on standard varieties of chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and bantams.
  11. Exhibitors may compete for sweepstakes and specials and merchandise specials only by becoming a member of the Benton County Poultry Association. Membership is $1.00; indicate on entry blank if you wish to become a member.
  12. If available funds are not sufficient to pay all premiums in full, the Association reserves the right to pro-rate.
  13. Birds must be hatched prior to May 1 of the current year.

Cash premiums: Single entries of cocks, hens, cockerels, and pullets.
